Yale Gordon Concert
BHC presents an Azure Family Concert for young people with autism and related challenges and their families on Sunday, March 19, 2-3 PM. The Azure Family Concerts are fun, friendly and engaging performances tailored to children and young adults who are on the autism spectrum or have similar challenges. Since many with autism (or related challenges) cannot attend traditional music performances due to vocalizations or physical movements, BHC Cares, in partnership with the Peabody String Sinfonia, seeks to create a musical environment where all behaviors are accepted and embraced.
The concert is approximately one hour in length. Family members and caregivers of all ages are welcome to attend. The Peabody String Sinfonia will be joined by globe-trotting pianist and autism dad Stephen Prutsman, who started the Azure Family Concert Series in the San Francisco Bay area. The program will feature a fun mix of classical, jazz and popular music, including “Let It Go” from Frozen.
Admission is free, but tickets are required. The event is possible with support from the Peggy and Yale Gordon Trust. Tickets: azureconcertsbaltimore.brownpapertickets.com. Questions: Maria Kannen, firstname.lastname@example.org.
